award winning project: Cashmere Hills

The team here at BD Construction are proud of this residential home build up on the Cashmere Hills in Christchurch. All of the building work including carpentry and joinery was done with our in-house team. 

The stunning views provide an excellent platform for this commanding 5 bedroom home. The site profile features a steep section which is maximised with split level garden terracing and clever build placement. 

Clad in cedar, stone and black and white, the external finishes invoke a sense of modern minimalism, enhanced by natural texturing. 

Clean, modern lines are the trademark of the interior, with light oak timber floors, white walls and a stone bench top. High ceilings accentuate the spacious living areas, while the large glass sliders and balcony frame the expansive views.

In keeping with the accentuation of natural features, the central circulation area is illuminated with a ceiling window, encapsulating the dynamic hues of natural lighting as each day goes by.

The ensuite bathroom has a double sink and shower with black tiles and an oak vanity, offsetting the sharper features of chrome and glass.

This home build won a Master Builders House of the Year Bronze Award which represents an extremely high standard of building.  The highly prestigious awards celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of Master Builders in New Zealand.
